Esprit D'Air Releases "Silver Leaf" and Announces Grassroots UK & Ireland Tour

Esprit D'Air releases their fourth single “Silver Leaf” from their upcoming fourth studio album, Aeons on 18 July 2025.
Fronted by vocalist Kai (current guitarist of The Sisters Of Mercy), with drums by Jan-Vincent Velazco (ex-Ghost, current member of Pendragon), bass by Takeshi Tokunaga (ex-MergingMoon), and guitar by Yusuke Okamoto, Esprit D’Air is a Japanese metal band delivering a unique blend of progressive metal and electronicore.
While the first three singles from Aeons—“Lost Horizon”, “Shadow of Time”, and “Zetsubou no Hikari”—were composed and written by frontman Kai, “Silver Leaf” marks the first song entirely composed by bassist Takeshi Tokunaga for the album, with lyrics mainly by Takeshi Tokunaga and Yusuke Okamoto, and additional lyrics by Kai, introducing a fresh dynamic to Esprit D'Air’s sound.
Takeshi says:
"There are moments in life both big and small when we’re faced with the need to make a choice. Even if that choice feels uncertain, even if we’re lost without an answer, or even if it might turn out to be the wrong one. And over time, whether the choice you made turns out to be a good one or not depends on you.
Of course, choosing to go with the flow and let others decide for you isn’t necessarily wrong either. But if you do have the chance to make your own decision, I hope this song can encourage you to take that step forward."
Following their successful European tour across ten countries, performing at venues with capacities of up to 1,500, Esprit D’Air will embark on a grassroots UK and Ireland tour in November 2025 in support of the Aeons album. The tour will also include a rescheduled performance in Barcelona, which was originally postponed due to a national power outage.
Kai says:
“This Aeons Album Launch Tour is all about reconnecting. We've missed the raw energy and closeness of the smaller grassroots venues in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and Northern Ireland. Grassroots venues are where it all begins—not just for bands like us, but for entire music scenes. These spaces are vital. They're where real connections are made, and where music lives and breathes at its most honest.”
Operating without a record label or management, their second album Oceans debuted in the Official Rock & Metal Charts at #8, with two of their singles reaching top ten in the Official Singles Sales Chart.
The new single “Silver Leaf” serves as a preview of the band’s fourth studio album Aeons, scheduled for release on October 24, 2025. Previous singles “Lost Horizon” and “Zetsubou no Hikari” were featured in Metal Hammer’s Tracks of the Week. “Silver Leaf” continues the album’s rollout.
