Esprit D'Air unveil new single Chronos from upcoming album Aeons

Independent metal outfit Esprit D'Air have unveiled their latest track Chronos, the fifth single of their fourth studio record Aeons, arriving on November 7, 2025.
Told from the unique viewpoint of time itself, Chronos examines humanity's endless habit of repeating past errors, raising the question of whether we can finally escape destructive cycles. Sonically, the single fuses thunderous guitars, shamisen, and electronic textures, creating one of the group's most powerful and experimental songs yet.
Frontman Kai explains:
"Ever feel like history just keeps repeating itself? Will we ever learn?
Sometimes it feels like the world is stuck on repeat. The same conflicts, the same mistakes that humans make. Chronos is written from the perspective of time itself, questioning whether we'll keep following the same path or find the courage to change. It's a reminder that change starts with us, even if it's just one small step at a time."
The new record Aeons expands on this theme. Kai describes it as a body of work that reflects how time can confine us, challenge us, and force us to confront who we are. These songs emerged in an age of instability, division, and global crises, but also capture resilience, hope, and the possibility of renewal. Within the despair lies a spark of optimism — a reminder that even in darkness, a way forward still exists.
Esprit D'Air is helmed by guitarist and producer Kai — also a current member of The Sisters of Mercy — alongside drummer Vincent Velazco (ex-Ghost, Pendragon), bassist Takeshi (ex-MergingMoon), and guitarist Yusuke.
After touring ten countries across Europe in venues reaching 1,500 capacity, Esprit D'Air will return to the stage this winter for a grassroots run across the UK and Ireland in support of Aeons. Opting for smaller venues, the band want to deliver the raw impact of their new music up close. The tour also includes a rescheduled Barcelona date following last year's unexpected nationwide power outage.
While previous records featured high-profile collaborations with Ben Christo (The Sisters of Mercy), Ryo Kinoshita (ex-Crystal Lake, Knosis), Tim 'Ripper' Owens (ex-Judas Priest, KK's Priest), and Heavygrinder, Aeons is a self-contained creation, fully written and produced by the band themselves.
Aeons arrives November 7, 2025.
